Mission Statement:
Support Local Arts San Antonio is dedicated to providing assistance to local artists in all fields by; giving grants to an artist [i.e. painter, musician, writer] to be used in furthering their artistic endeavors, help fund children's art programs and classes, and bring in artists and work from other communities to further cultural unity between other cities and countries. The ultimate goal is to promote, perpetuate, and provide assistance to San Antonio's culture and the people whom contribute to that unique culture.

About Support Local Arts San Antonio Goals:
Artists of all fields, [including but not limited to] musicians, visual artists, writers, film directors, those involved in local theatre, etc.] are eligible for grants to use for the production or promotion of their work. [as far as funds allow monthly.]
Any children's programs; [including but not limited to] school art programs, independent art classes, children's theatre, or any other class that promotes the arts in children] are eligible for donations for supplies or any other needs for the specific program. [As far as funds allow monthly].
Support Local Arts will also have fundraisers that bring in local and non-local talents to showcase, promote, and encourage our culture and cultural relationships.
We plan to attain funds for grants from private donations, fundraisers, and have donation jars at local businesses and events.
About the Beginning:
Support Local Arts San Antonio was founded by native San Antonio artist, Sara Barcus. She has seen San Antonio's culture grow and grow, and has recently had to be witness to the arts scene's collapse. Most of this has been due to the economics of our times and artists straining to hold onto the time and money required to continue their works.
Hopefully, through SLA San Antonio, artists will gain the assistance they need to perpetuate their artistic vision.
